6.7km loop - 28:30. Need I say any more?
Haha, good run straight off the bike from college & straight into it, felt good, really really good throughout like I've been training alot more then I am currently.
I've had some decent food, rest & sleep the last week so I was refreshed. however at the prom, I felt like I was hardly moving, as I slowed what I felt was rather dramatically, so that's good - more training & I'll have that sorted out - that's complete lack of endurance (obviously). sub 27 is there (even as I am currently) & sub 26 will happen too very soon.
Felt good, didn't kill myself, tried to put in a sprint for the last km, just wasn't there, yet when I had to cross the road before a car pulled out I was able to go at full speed, no problem whatsoever, this leads me to believe that I'm only ever really pushing 70-80% of max capacity for any given day, even when I believe I am pushing it.
This is universal amongst all runners though I'm sure, nature tends to take the path of least resistance & the human body is no exception. Another way to overcome not running to your max capabilities of course is to run with other people!
Come September I'll be doing just that. I have these exams to kill & once they're done, I'll be stepping up the training significantly once again & I can't bloody wait!!! Looking forward to winter training this year culminating at the fields 10km on boxing day. bring it on!
I aim to do a 10km on friday (time permitting) but I reckon I'll be able to get out for it...
