2 Good Runs to report
Tues 23/02/21 - Ran 5k in Approx 21 mins - easy running
Here I actually did just the 1 loop then I jogged a bit more than decided not to continue - 5k total roughly.
Thur 25/02/21 - This was yesterdays run. Felt great heading out - the sun was shining all day - about 12 degrees - was 18 degrees in London. I went out at 18:00 - a sure sign the seasons are changing again.
I simply felt great throughout. my sleep, though not entirely regulated is better now & I noticed in in the run. Even as I write this entry on Friday evening, I still feel really good this evening from the run, I feel I could do a good run, I feel hungary again - this is when you know that you are on form.
5 miler in 34:30 - this was a good run where I didn't go out hard at all, I just left myself fall into the pace of it.
7:40 at the turn, I had one of those runs where you actually forget to/don't bother with the time checks as you are feeling so good, you know your times are solid as you are grinding away so you know that there is no immediate benefit in checking. Rather than the huffing & puffing & really struggling with the run then having to check the time to see if you are on track or not.
Thursdays run is why I run - I had a great run altogether. I've ran much faster of course previously but not for some time as well as the fact that there was loads more there if I am willing to sacrifice.
I was 10:20 at the bridge, 12:15 at the turn, 17:30 at the turn at Lisk, 21:07 at the turn in, 27:03 onto the Loughrea Rd. 32:40 passing Bolands lane. & 33:40 just prior to Supervalu. Finished for 34:30, could easily have dropped another minute on this - this would bring me to where I have been previously.
We all know what I have to do in order for this to happen:
- Up the mileage
- Up earlier & bed earlier too - discipline & sacrifice
- Better diet - Cut out the crap - drink more water - cleaner fuel
- Cut weight - get rid of my now well forming gut (drop 5kg's easily - I am 82kgs now - I could easily bring this down to 75kgs - I was hovering between 85 - 88 kgs in Sweden though so I'm actually not too bad, though I've never had a more noticable gut in my opinion...)
- Cease snacking & stay hungary
- Re introduce sprint training (5x1k repeats).
