Friday 21st May 2021 - 12 laps of grass - 27:29
Felt good today on the grass. Had planned to do 15 laps but decided to to call it an evening on 12 laps in - very conscious now not to do too much Re my leg.
No issues with my right calf at all - some slight niggles post run bit no discomfort at all.
Just need to continue to monitor this & I should be OK with 2 runs a week on the grass.
Cycle every other day then aswell & I'm as good as I can be really... then take it to the UK & see how training goes in the fall - hopefully there should be some races on...
Nice weather, cool but dry, slightly windy but considering there was a storm yesterday I was happy enough to get out without too much hassle - they had cut the grass too so that was helpful...
I've always struggled with boredom with grass running but I have managed to turn a task I don't like (running on that pitch) to an activity I now look forward to - I cracked it.
I keep count of the laps in my mind in terms of how many I have done.
Sounds stupid but I used to always lose count. Now I just keep the figure, say 7 in my mind till I cross the "finish line" then I have 8 laps (i.e. I have ran 8 laps & am currently completing my 9th, etc.
This really works, that along with feeling quite strong too really was refreshing.
I miss the road but I must keep off it now, for the time being... it beats not being able to run at all - (which is near catastrophic for me) - there is only so much cycling you can do (as a runner) before it just gets too time consuming etc...
